Charles Conner Obituary

Charles A. Conner, 98, formerly of RD, Cassville, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born March 2, 1922 in Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Kathryn (Flickinger) Conner. He was united in marriage to the former Alma B. Evans on January 2, 1947 at Hagerstown, MD. Mrs. Conner preceded in death on May 14, 1992. He then married Nellie Mae (Foster) McNerlin on September 30, 1995 and she preceded in death on December 14, 2012. 

He is survived by six daughters, Patsy Wiser and husband Eugene Gary of Allensville, PA, Betty Thomas and husband James of Mechanicsburg, PA, Mary Relken and husband Mark of Hoffman Estates, IL, Carol Webb and husband Dennis of Alum Bank, PA, Pauline Yohn and husband Mark of Greencastle, PA and Jean Sieczkowski and husband Harry of Brambleton, VA and two step sons, Ronald McNerlin and wife Dixie of Mapleton, PA and Willard McNerlin of Cassville, PA.

He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twentyseven great grandchildren and four sisters, Nancy Runk of Broad Top, PA, Laura Neff of Lancaster, PA, Kathryn Blair of Huntingdon, PA and Helen Garber of Lancaster, PA. Six brothers, Bennett, Sam, Robert, Richard, Alfred and Frank Conner, three sisters, Betty Rickabaugh, Dorothy Conner and Jane Stake and two great grandchildren preceded in death.

Mr. Conner was a member of the Beavertown Bible Church, RD, Todd, PA. 

He retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Huntingdon, PA. Prior to that he was employed at Harbison-Walker Refractories, Mt. Union, PA and was also engaged in farming.

Mr. Conner was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army as a medic in the 55th Field Hospital.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
