Cora E. (Mansberger) David

Cora E. David, 94, of Cassville, PA and more recently at Embassy of Woodland Park in Orbisonia, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 after a courageous battle and is in the arms of the Lord.

Born on October 17, 1929 in Calvin, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Pheasant) Mansberger.  She was the youngest child of their family.  On September 23, 1950, she married Myron J. David.  Mr. David passed away on April 10, 2003.

Cora was the loving mother of Kandi Ann David-Meece and husband Joseph, grandmother to Myron Jordan David-Meece and Morgan Pheasant David-Meece and girlfriend Beth McNerlin.

She was preceded in death by siblings Samuel Mansberger, Orpha Stever and Ann McHenry.

Mrs. David was a member of Harmony Church of God, but most recently attended Hope In The Valley United Methodist Church in Cassville.

She was a past Matron in the Order of the Amaranth and member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Cora was a graduate of Captain Jack High School, Mt. Union, PA.

To start each day, she had to read her Our Daily Bread devotional and Bible.

Along with her husband, they owned and operated David’s Store in Cassville.  They retired from the store in 1980.

Cora loved her hobbies.  She had raced powder puff, created stained glass creations, step stones and paintings.

She loved to travel every month in the summer, especially to the shore.  While at the shore, she went fishing with family and friends.  After her retirement, she enjoyed her winters at Fort Myers Beach in Florida.

In her spare time, she loved playing dominos, card games, her iPad and watching Family Feud.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Hope In The Valley United Methodist Church, 268 Maple St., Cassville, PA with Pastor Rick Anderson and her nephew, Rev. Dan Mansberger officiating.  Interment will be at Trough Creek Valley Baptist Cemetery, Calvin, PA.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
