G. Madeline (Hess) Griffith

G. Madeline Griffith, 82, New Fording Road, Broad Top, PA died at 11:55 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her home in Todd Township, Huntingdon County.

Born March 23, 1938 at Hesston, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Leonard and Harriet (McKnight) Hess.  She was married to Ellis J. Griffith on July 14, 1962. Mr. Griffith survives at home.

Mrs. Griffith is survived by two daughters: Cynthia Snare and husband William, Roaring Spring, PA and Connie Brode and husband Michael T., Saxton, PA.

There are three granddaughters: Jacquelyn Brode, Laura Brode and Sarah Grace Snare.

A sister Phyllis Hess Blattenberger survives of Mill Creek, PA.  A sister Mary M. Grove and a brother Floyd G. Hess and an infant brother Freddie Hess are deceased.

She was a member of the Trough Creek Valley Community Church, Broad Top, PA.

In her earlier years, Mrs. Griffith worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglas and at Penn State University.  She was a homemaker.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Trough Creek Valley Community Church, 19802 Sugar Grove Road, Todd, PA with Pastor Tim Martin officiating.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Interment will be made at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Broad Top, PA.
