Gail B. Free

Gail B. Free, 88, formerly of Smith Valley Road, Mapleton, PA, and more recently of Strodes Mills, PA, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, PA.

Born June 6, 1931 at Mapleton, PA, he was a son of the late Paul and Hazel (Dell) Free. He was united in marriage to the former Shirley M. Miller on October 14, 1950. Mrs. Free preceded in death on July 15, 1995.

He is survived by one son, Jesse Free and his wife Catherine of Hanover, PA, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and his companion, Edith Young of Strodes Mills, PA. He was preceded in death by two children, David Free and Cynthia Patton and two grandchildren.

Mr. Free had attended Bowman’s Chapel United Methodist Church, RD, Mapleton, PA.

He retired in 1997 from Driggs Corporation, Capitol Heights, MD, as a heavy equipment operator. Prior to that he was employed by Morgan Brothers Lumber.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary St., Cassville, PA with Pastor Michelle Price officiating. Interment will be made at Bowman’s Chapel Cemetery, RD, Mapleton, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
