Gaye A. McConaughey

Gaye A. McConaughey, 84, of Trough Creek Valley Pike, Huntingdon, PA, died Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at her home.

Born February 10, 1939 at Wells Tannery, PA, she was a daughter of the late Caulder and Flo (Truax) Dickinson. She was united in marriage to Edwin McConaughey on October 12, 1957 at Hagerstown, MD. Mr. McConaughey preceded in death on August 1, 1973. 

She is survived by three children, Delores McConaughey and companion John Beck of Huntingdon, Michael McConaughey and wife Gaylene of Smithfield, PA and Melissa Rogers and husband Troy of Huntingdon, four grandchildren, Edwin McConaughey, Seth McConaughey, Daniel Boone, III and Ryan Sample and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis McConaughey, four brothers, Leroy, Percy, Jake and George Dickinson, two sisters, Maude Thomas and Roberta Morrison and one brother who died in infancy.

Mrs. McConaughey was a member of the former Calvin United Methodist Church and more recently a member of Harmony Church of God, Calvin, PA. 

During her life she was employed as a rural mail carrier for 30 years.

She was very fond of her dog “Sadie”.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary St., Cassville, PA with Pastor David Hersh and Pastor Rick Anderson officiating. Interment will be made at Saltillo Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
