George Russell Snyder, 87, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA.
Born on January 3, 1934 in Springfield Township, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mable (Romig) Snyder. He was married to Janet Park on October 26, 1958. Mrs. Snyder survives at home.
He is survived by one daughter, Pamela (Snyder) Metz and husband Jon, Donation, PA. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Patricia Whitsel, Mapleton, PA and Vickie Snyder, Blairs Mills, PA. Seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews survive.
Mr. Snyder had five brothers and two sisters that preceded him in death.
He had worked thirty years for E.R. Caldwell, Ligonier, PA, Slates Salvage, Three Springs Borough, Derstine Vegetables and was a garbage man.
Mr. Snyder requested that there be no viewing.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Cornelius Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot, PA with Pastor Ben Holler officiating.
