H. Ruth Hicks

H. Ruth Hicks, 79, of Trough Creek Valley Pike, Calvin, PA, died Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her home.

Born May 11, 1941 in Cromwell Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Emma (Whitsel) Jenkins. She was united in marriage to James T. Hicks, Sr. on November 14, 1959. Mr. Hicks preceded in death on July 28, 2016.

She is survived by two children, Terri Schmeck and husband Rich of Litiz, PA and James Hicks, Jr. of Cassville, PA, four grandchildren, Lauren Schmeck, Elisa Schmeck, Richard Schmeck and Chase Hicks, four sisters, Sylvia Klepping of Elizabethtown, PA, Marge Stake of Three Springs, PA, Vonnie Thomas of York, PA and Pat Speer of Blairs Mills, PA. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Hicks, three sisters, Pauline Scott, Eleanor Lancaster and Dorothy Stains and four brothers, Harold Beatty, Herman Jenkins, Merle Jenkins and Janvier Jenkins.

Mrs. Hicks was a member of the Cassville United Methodist Church.

During her life she was a homemaker.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Trough Creek Valley Baptist Cemetery, RD, Calvin, PA with Rev. Beverly Skopic officiating.
