Isabel M. Scharf, 88, formerly of Smith Valley (Mapleton Depot R.D) died at the Baptist Home, Pittsburgh, PA where she resided. Born October 28, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of Robert and June (Newton) Mathews. She was united in marriage to Eugene F. Scharf on June 19, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Scharf preceded in her death in August of 2009 after fifty-five years of marriage.
She is survived by three children: Howard Scharf and wife Anne-Marie of Bernville, PA, Caryl Drabick and husband Michael of Pittsburgh, PA and Eugene “Bud” Scharf Jr. and wife Paula of Hamilton, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Scharf was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Huntingdon, PA. She graduated from the Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1949. She had been employed as a Secretary for the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Philadelphia, PA and more recently was a bookkeeper for Cornelius Brothers.
Due to Covid-19, Graveside services only will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2020 Cassville Cemetery with Pastor Brandon Cain and Jay Buchanan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Salvation Army or a local Food Bank of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, PA.
