Lewis R. “Poug” Rhodes, 78, of Trough Creek Valley Pike, Huntingdon, PA, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his home.
Born March 3, 1942 in Wayne Twp., Mifflin Co., PA, he was a son of the late Melvin and Madeline (Himes) Rhodes. He was united in marriage to the former Lana Atherton on September 30, 1961. Mrs. Rhodes survives at their home.
He is also survived by three children, Steven L. Rhodes of McVeytown, PA, Stacey K. Rhodes and companion Dwight O. Rittenhouse of Mill Creek, PA and Susi Worthy and husband Rodney of Trough Creek Valley Pike, Huntingdon, seven grandchildren, Angela Leonard, Rodney Worthy, Jr., Alex Rhodes, Dylann Rhodes, Dana Rhodes, Hailey Rhodes and Jacob Rhodes, one great grandson, Liam Rhodes and three siblings, Alvin Rhodes of McVeytown, PA, Betty Bilger of Mill Creek, PA and Helen Sunderland of McVeytown. Four brothers, Jim, Paul, Donald and Bruce Rhodes and one sister, Lorma Taylor, preceded in death.
Mr. Rhodes was of the Baptist faith.
He retired from Bonney Forge, Inc., Mt. Union, PA and prior to that he was employed by North American Refractories, Inc., Mt. Union, PA for 22 years.
Mr. Rhodes was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed gardening, taking care of flowers for his wife and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
