Linda L. Kern, 74, of Jack’s Mt. Road, Mapleton, PA, died Saturday, July 12, 2025 at her home.
Born January 4, 1951 at Huntingdon, PA, she was a daughter of the late Roy, Sr. and Lucinda (Villinger) Lynn. She was united in marriage to Edward Kern, III on June 14, 1975. Mr. Kern survives at their home.
She is also survived by two children, Travis Kern of Chambersburg, PA and Jen Occhinero and husband Tom of Denville, NJ and two siblings, Joanne Oberle and husband Bob Haines of Huntingdon, PA and Roy Lynn, Jr. and wife Mary of Mechanicsburg, Virginia. One son, David, died in infancy.
Linda enjoyed cooking, gardening and going to yard sales. She may be best known for her love of snowmen. She enjoyed collecting and displaying them every Christmas. Linda was also a diehard Penn State Football fan. She could be heard cheering them on every Saturday.
She was employed by Bumgardner and Flasher Oil, Inc., for 23 years and prior to that was employed at the Dairy Science Extension office of Penn State University.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary St., Cassville, PA. Interment will be made at Bowman’s Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. .
