Linda V. Steel

Linda V. Steel, 77, of Calvin, PA, died Saturday, January 28, 2023 at UPMC Altoona.

Born December 22, 1945 in Cass Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Sarah (Greenland) Buckley. She was united in marriage to George W. Steel, Sr. on November 5, 1968. Mr. Steel preceded in death on March 22,2001.

She is survived by three children, Verna Yoder and husband Raymond of Mill Creek, PA, George W. Steel, Jr and Samuel Steel, both of Calvin and two grandchildren, Courtney Mathna and Jordan Yoder. She is also survived by four siblings, Judith Pollock of Calvin, Gary Buckley of Huntingdon, PA, Lloyd Buckley of Todd, PA and Cloyd Buckley of Calvin. Two brothers, James Buckley and Roy “Butch” Buckley, preceded in death.

Mrs. Steel attended New Hope Baptist Church, Broad Top, PA.

During her life she was mainly a homemaker and had also been employed at U. S. Sports, Inc., Huntingdon, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church, 18103 Hemlock Ridge Road, Broad Top, PA with Pastor Zachery Kerlin officiating. Interment will be made privately at Trough Creek Valley Baptist Cemetery, Calvin.
