Orne S. Varner

Orne S. Varner, 85, of Happy Hills Road, Huntingdon, PA, died Monday, August 31, 2020 at Robertsdale, PA.

Born November 5, 1934 in Union Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, he was a son of the late David and Dorothy (Byers) Varner. He was united in marriage to the former Rosie Prough on July 20, 1957. Mrs. Varner preceded in death on December 9, 1992.

He is survived by two children, Dale Varner, Sr. of Calvin, PA and Helen Allen of Robertsdale, PA, five grandchildren, one of which, Gene Varner, was reared in the Varner home, eleven great grandchildren and two siblings, Stanley Varner of Huntingdon, PA and Genevieve Estep of Calvin, PA. He was preceded in death by three sons, Samuel, John and Thomas Varner and a number of brothers and sisters.

During his life he was employed by the former MB Lumber as a sawmiller.

After his retirement he enjoyed spending most of his time working on tractors.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
