Sylvia L. Garber, 85, of Shade Gap, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Embassy of Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon, PA.
Born on July 24, 1940 in Calvin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Zelda (Stapleton) Smith. She was united in marriage to Wilbert F. Garber. Mr. Garber preceded in death on February 23, 1992.
She is survived by son Terry Smith, Shirleysburg, PA, siblings Jeanette Shade and husband Roger, West Virginia, William Smith and wife Kay, Robertsdale, PA, Sara Jane Rossman and husband Raymond, McClure, PA and Noyd Smith, Sr. and wife Susan, Lewistown, PA and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Garber was preceded in death by son Edward Smith and brothers Wilbur, Denny, Doyle, George, Donnie, John and Martin Smith and sisters Bonnie Peffer and Mabel Stuckey.
She was a member of Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap, PA.
During her lifetime, she was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed helping people, helping at her church and making crafts.
At the family’s request, there will be no services.
