Vicki Tabler Obituary

Vicki L. Tabler, 79, of Huntingdon, PA, died Monday, July 27, 2026, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born on September 21,1946, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jeanetta “Punkin” (McKenzie) Yoder. She was united in marriage to Douglas M. Tabler on May 12, 1968. Mr. Tabler survives at home.

She is survived by sons Douglas A. Tabler and wife Sherry and Cole L. Tabler and wife Kimberley. She is also survived by grandchildren Angela J. Sauro and husband Jason, Keith Tabler and fiancee Jennifer Sofranko and Griffin L. Tabler and wife Kelley. Along with great grandchildren Nicholas Hulver, Tyler Hulver and Sarah Hulver and great-great grandchildren Ronin Perryman and Waylon Hulver. She is also survived by sister Gerri Cook along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Vicki was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Joseph Cook.

Family was very important to her. She doted on her husband and two boys, instilling in

them the values of Faith, Family, and Love. Vicki attended all her children’s and

grandchildren’s sporting events when they were little, never missing any and always

being supportive. She loved getting photos of all the grand babies and great grand

babies. She kept all the hand drawn photos that the kids made her and put them away

carefully or hung them on the refrigerator.

The farm in Pennsylvania was her pride and Joy. She loved the peacefulness of it and

how beautiful it was. She loved to sit on the front porch and look out over the farm and

pond. People would stop and ask permission to take pictures there for proms,

engagement, and senior photos.

Vicki had a great love for animals. She loved to feed the deer and watch them come in

to eat while she was doing her dishes. Her two great loves were her yellow labs. Buck

and Doolittle, they were more than dogs to her, they were her babies and were treated

as such. Vicki donated to The Humane Society and many other charities where she

could help animals in need. In her free time, she loved to work in her gardens. She

took such pride in making them look beautiful. The front of the house and the porch

were always perfect every spring with colorful flowers.

Vicki loved to bake and had so many cookbooks. She was a wonderful cook. She

loved to go to the store and wander through the isles as Mickey slept in the van waiting

patiently for her. She was always ready to cook up whatever Mickey would bring in –

fish, squirrel, rabbits, deer etc.

One of her favorite hobbies was shopping., looking through stacks of magazines and

filling out the order forms! Even though she may have gotten carried away sometimes.

She received packages almost daily. Amazon would have loved her had she known

how to use the computer!

Vicki took great pride in her appearance, rolling her hair in her curlers, putting on her

lotions, and makeup. Always wanting her hair to stay red, never gray.! She had a great

love for Estee Lauder.

Her strong faith and values will be passed down from generation to generation, and she

will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
